Nori Sesame Furikake - 5 sachets

Furikake was invented during the second World War to add more avor to the rice bowl of japanese sailors. It is a powder condiment, roasted and salted whith dashi, which is really popular in Japan. 

slightly salty and very umami.

Furikake is generally sprinkled on rice to add avor and color. It can also be used on sh, salads, noodles, or Tofu. 

Sesame, nori, salt, sesame oil, sugar, dextrine, mirin, natural avor enhancer (dried skipjack tuna powder), starch, soy sauce, dried skipjack tuna extract, yeast extract, sake, fermented seasoning, kombu, spices (red pepper, garlic), antioxidant (Vitamin E), (contains wheat, mackerel, soy).

Store in dark, dry and cool place.

The Yamagataya Noriten company, founded in 1764 in Edo, Tokyo’s previous name, celebrated its 255th anniversary in 2019.

The company produces nori, as well as several nori based products including nori sheets used to make maki and furikake (a mix of nori, sesame, dried bonito and other ingredients to be sprinkled on rice).

Umami Paris distributes one of Yamagataya Noriten furikake in France.

Short anecdote : Umami presents Yamagataya Noriten in France since 2014 however, the company’s products had already been introduced once in France in... 1878 in the Japanese Pavilion during the World Exposition in Paris.
