Oita prefecture shiitake, also known as Osk shiitake, is a cooperative of farmers cultivating shiitake mushrooms in the department of Oita (Kyushu Island). This cooperative was founded in 1907, and its goal, as any cooperative, is to assist its members in the marketing of their products, namely shiitake or shiitake products from Oita. The cooperative has more than 4,000 members.
With 48% of domestic production, Oita is the number 1 in Japan regarding to shiitake production.
