Gato Mikio was founded in 1908 in the city of Kaga(Ishikawa Prefecture), in the Yamanaka district known for his pottery wheels. Inheriting the passion of wood turners, Gato Mikio values natural materials by creating carefully carved wooden pieces in which the wood grain is boldly highlighted. This requires precision work, striving for perfection. Gato Mikio also uses traditional Yamanaka lacquering techniques.
