Maruri Foods

Founded in 1993 by the father of the current president, the family business Maruri Foods Co., based in Soma in Fukushima Prefecture, specializes in the production of Aosa algae and more particularly of the Hitoegusa, a variety of seaweed prized for its aroma and texture. The company pioneered the production of frozen Aosa for the Japanese market and, despite the devastation of the 2011 tsunami, resumed operations in 2018. Maruri Foods is distinguished by its innovation in quality, using advanced brushing and washing technology to remove impurities and bacteria, ensuring a pure and safe product. It offers Aosa products in various forms—frozen, dried, and powdered—and is now expanding its market internationally.
