Taketora

Taketora takes its name from the Tiger Bamboo that she cultivates in Awa in Kochi Prefecture since 1894. This unique bamboo variety loses its characteristic tawny streaking when grown elsewhere. A fourth-generation Taketora, Mr. Yamagishi continues to keep the Japanese bamboo tradition alive and wants to introduce the world to the many possibilities it offers the fastest growing tree in the world: a fast, solid, ecological and economical tool.
