Umami Poster - Yuzu Yellow (A3)

To celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2024, Umami collaborated with an illustrator to create a poster that pays homage to our world and our classic products through stamps evoking travel and craftsmanship. It features our signature items such as yuzu, katsuo (bonito flakes), udon noodles, matcha, and the bento box, alongside landscapes and scenes inspired by producers and artisans, like the preparation of soy sauce or the rice harvest. The central image of a meal, blending groceries and Japanese tableware, symbolizes what unites us: the joy of a good meal.

Color: The poster's cream background evokes the soft, warm hue of yuzu, the iconic Japanese citrus fruit. Also available in matcha green.

Printing technique: The poster is printed using risography, a traditional cold printing method originating in post-war Japan. Energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, risography is characterized by its layered colors and charming imperfections, resulting in a vibrant, textured print with a unique, handcrafted feel.

Dimensions: With its ideal size (A3, 29.7 cm x 42 cm), this poster will find its perfect place in your kitchen, living room or bedroom, bringing a Japanese and gourmet touch to your interior.

Strasbourg-based graphic designer and illustrator Amélie Manchoulas, also known as Amypiou, drew inspiration from a year spent traveling through Japan to create vibrant and lively images. To compose these colorful illustrations, she drew on her memories, her travel journal, the sights she encountered, and the objects she admired. Passionate about printing processes, she uses risograph printing, a Japanese technique with pure inks.
