Description

This furoshiki features a work by Keisuke Serizawa, with the "Isoho-bumi" pattern, inspired by Aesop's fables adapted for Japan. This light, flexible, and easy-to-tie cotton cloth square can be used for wrapping, gifting, or carrying items (bottle, bento, book, gift...), and can be reused infinitely. An elegant and durable alternative to disposable packaging.

The artist: Keisuke Serizawa

A major figure in Japanese textile art, Keisuke Serizawa developed "kataezome," a stencil dyeing technique inherited from traditional katazome, to create a personal style of great subtlety, inspired by Edo komon and Ise handmade paper. His works, depicting geometric patterns, plants, animals, and landscapes, combine sobriety and refinement in a deeply Japanese aesthetic. Appointed a Living National Treasure of Japan in 1956 (the highest honor awarded to a living artist), he remains one of the most admired figures in Japanese craftsmanship today.
