Description
This furoshiki features a work by Keisuke Serizawa inspired by the Japanese character for "wind": a refined design, full of breath and movement. A square of light, flexible, and easy-to-tie cotton fabric, it can be used for wrapping, gifting, or carrying (bottles, bento boxes, books, gifts...), and can be reused indefinitely. An elegant and sustainable alternative to disposable packaging.
The artist: Keisuke Serizawa
A major figure in Japanese textile art, Keisuke Serizawa developed the "kataezome," a stencil dyeing technique inherited from traditional katazome, to create a personal style of great subtlety, drawing inspiration from Edo komon and Ise handmade paper. His works, depicting geometric patterns, plants, animals, and landscapes, combine simplicity and refinement in a profoundly Japanese aesthetic. Appointed a Living National Treasure of Japan in 1956 (the highest honor bestowed upon a living artist), he remains today one of the most admired figures in Japanese craftsmanship.
