Description

Mikan, once the most consumed fruit in Japan, is a sweet and mild variety of mandarin. The mikan used to make this juice are grown in the Wakayama region, a region known throughout Japan for its mikan. The fruits are peeled one by one so that only the thin skin remains, which retains the flesh of the fruit during pressing. This particular technique produces a juice with a clean, sweet, and creamy taste, with very little acidity, as if one were eating the fruit itself.

Flavor

Sweet and creamy, not bitter, not acidic.

Store in a cool, dry place, refrigerated after opening.

The producer

Sowa Kajuen

Sowa Kajuen is the fruit of the association of 7 Mikan farmers. They have combined their expertise to develop their business and new mikan-based products. Sowa Kajuen is located in Arida, Wakayama region. For over 400 years, Arida has been the first mikan-producing city of the Japanese archipelago, thanks to its environment. In summer, rainfall is low and the region's soil retains the right amount of moisture to grow the famous Arida mikan. Sowa Kajuen combines the richness of its surrounding nature with technology to produce delicious mikan on nearly 8 hectares of fields, all of which they use to produce a wide variety of products.
