Homemade ginger ale syrup
Ingredients
For the syrup:
200 g ginger
200 g sugar
10 sansho berries
5 cloves
1 dried red chili pepper
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
300 g water
For the drink:
Sparkling water
Yuzu or lemon juice
Ice cubes
Preparation
1.Cut the ginger into thin slices.
2.Place the ginger and all the other ingredients for the syrup in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce to low heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
3.Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
4.Dilute 2 to 3 tablespoons of syrup and 1 teaspoon of yuzu or lemon juice in 150 ml of sparkling water to obtain a homemade ginger ale.
