The producer

Kameya Foods

The house Kameya Foods has been founded in 1947 by Heichi Kameya and his wife Toshiaki in Shizuoka. Since its founding, the company has been developing wasabi products that reflect the philosophy of the company and its employees: “Food is the source of life.” Kameya Foods is surrounded by a rich environment that allows it to grow very good quality wasabi. The farm is located at the foot of Mount Amagi, in the Izu Peninsula, where rain is abundant. This rain, after passing through the depths of Mount Amagi, gushes out abundantly, loaded with oxygen and nutrients and at a stable temperature throughout the year. Although equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, the company favors manual processing of wasabi to ensure its quality. Over the years, it has developed several wasabi-based products, including grated wasabi in a tube that does not contain horseradish so that everyone can enjoy the true flavors of wasabi, an ancestral Japanese condiment.
