Umeboshi, also known as salted plum, is a variety of Japanese plum similar to an apricot. Umeboshi paste is a very popular and highly regarded condiment in Japan. This elegant and refined paste has a low salt content (5%) and is made without preservatives or colorings.

This umeboshi paste is slightly salty and tangy, true to the flavor of Japanese plums.

Preservation

Store at room temperature and away from light. After opening, keep refrigerated.

The company Maruyama Foods, located in Wakayama Prefecture, cultivates Japanese plums called Ume since 1955. The company is located in the village of Minabe, which is renowned in Japan for the quality of its Ume, and is the largest Ume production site in Japan in terms of quantity. Maruyama Foods supplies us with its traditional Umeboshi (salted plums), as well as umeboshi paste. The plums used for these creations are of the Nankobai (南高梅) variety, a category considered high-end and one of the best available.

J'aurais préféré un emballage en verre
