Satsunan Sugar

Based in Makurazaki, in southern Kagoshima Prefecture, Satsunan Sugar continues since 1964 the tradition of Japanese sugar. This region, bathed in a subtropical climate, has long been linked to the cultivation and processing of sugar cane, especially from the islands of Amami and Okinawa, renowned for their rich flavors. Satsunan Sugar makes a point of selecting high-quality raw materials, processed using processes that preserve the aromatic richness and natural sweetness of the sugar. Their specialty: a brown sugar rich in molasses, with a round, slightly licorice flavor, which enhances both sweet and savory dishes, from coffee to simmered sauces. By combining traditional know-how and attention to quality, Satsunan Sugar aims not only to preserve a culinary heritage, but also to make it shine beyond the borders of Japan.
