Description

Shichimi is a spice blend widely used in Japan and considered excellent for health. It is traditionally composed of seven spices, hence its Japanese name "shichi" (seven) "mi" (flavor). This shichimi combines two of the prides of the Wakayama region: Arita mikan bark and sansho pepper, both locally produced. It also contains ginger for a fresh flavor.

Flavor

We first feel the lemony and fresh notes of sansho pepper which then give way to a frank sensation of spiciness, where we detect the freshness of ginger and the sweet bitterness of mikan.

Conservation

The producer

Sowa Kajuen

Sowa Kajuen is the fruit of the association of 7 Mikan farmers. They have combined their expertise to develop their business and new mikan-based products. Sowa Kajuen is located in Arida, Wakayama region. For over 400 years, Arida has been the first mikan-producing city of the Japanese archipelago, thanks to its environment. In summer, rainfall is low and the region's soil retains the right amount of moisture to grow the famous Arida mikan. Sowa Kajuen combines the richness of its surrounding nature with technology to produce delicious mikan on nearly 8 hectares of fields, all of which they use to produce a wide variety of products.
