Description

Wakame has been the most widely used seaweed by the Japanese since ancient times. The variety cultivated in the Naruto region, known for its famous sea whirlpools, has a history of over 1,000 years and is considered the origin of Japanese seaweed. It is particularly prized for its superior quality and thick, dense body. The seaweed is harvested and sorted by hand, then blanched before being brined.

Flavor

Thanks to the brining process, Naruto's wakame offers a subtle umami flavor, a good salty taste as well as a crunchy and elastic texture.

Conservation

Store in a cool place. Ideally, refrigerate. Before use, remove the salt by rubbing under running water and squeezing five times. Once desalted, the seaweed can be stored for 5 days in the refrigerator. Store the remaining bag in the freezer after opening.
