Description : Mozuku is an edible brown seaweed primarily harvested around Okinawa, which accounts for 90% of its production. It grows in long filaments, attaching directly to rocks or other seaweeds. Okinawa Mozuku stands out from other varieties due to its unique texture, which is thicker and crunchier. Rare outside Japan, Mozuku is prized not only for its subtle, briny flavor but also for its health benefits: antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, high fiber and vitamin K content, and, most notably, its fucoidan content—a remarkable compound used in cancer treatments.

Flavor : Delicate and subtly briny, evoking the freshness of the sea with a hint of natural acidity. Its unique texture combines soft, slightly crunchy, and almost gelatinous filaments, providing a pleasant and original mouthfeel.

Use : Enjoy simply with ponzu or sanbaizu vinegar to enhance its flavor. Mozuku can also be added to soups and salads. In Okinawa, Mozuku is often prepared as tempura.

Ingredients : Salt (82%), Cladosiphon okamuranus (18%).

Preservation : Store at room temperature, away from sunlight and heat (can be refrigerated or frozen). Once opened, refrigerate and consume within 3 days if desalted.
