Description : This condiment is crafted from a remarkable seaweed with numerous benefits, Aosa, also known as Monostroma nitidum or "sea lettuce." Primarily cultivated in the Aichi and Shizuoka regions, this seaweed is a true culinary treasure, rich in vitamins C and A, fiber, and minerals, calorie-free, and valued for its hydrating properties. In this condiment, Aosa is marinated in sesame oil with fresh garlic, fried garlic, and fried onion.
Flavor : The natural flavors of Aosa, combined with the richness of sesame oil, create a base of iodized umami with a subtly toasted note, enhanced by the bold taste of fried garlic and spicy hints of black pepper, red chili, and celery. This blend is balanced with a touch of sugar and salt. In terms of texture, the fried garlic and onion pieces add a delightful crunch that contrasts pleasantly with the sesame oil and the softness of the other ingredients, delivering a unique taste experience in every bite.
Use : Use this condiment as a topping for rice, salads, and bread, or in your pasta sauces and vinaigrettes. It also pairs perfectly with marinated tofu, fresh salads, and generally as a garnish for your main dishes.
