Description

This condiment is made from an exceptional seaweed with multiple virtues, Aosa, also called Monostroma nitidum or “sea lettuce”. Mainly cultivated in the Aichi and Shizuoka regions, this seaweed is a true culinary treasure: rich in vitamins C and A, fiber and minerals, moisturizing properties and zero calories. In this condiment, Aosa seaweed is marinated in sesame oil with fresh garlic, fried garlic and fried onion.

Flavor

The natural flavors of Aosa, combined with the richness of sesame oil, create a base of salty, subtly toasted umami, accentuated by the bold flavor of fried garlic and spicy touches of black pepper, red chili, and celery. All balanced with a hint of sugar and salt. Texturally, the fried garlic and onion pieces add a nice crunch, contrasting nicely with the sesame oil and the softness of the other ingredients.

Conservation

Store away from sunlight, heat, and humidity. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within one month.
