Description
This traditional umeshu is made with barley shochu and plums from the Wakayama region. The plums are steeped in the long-aged shochu. Shochu is a distilled spirit typically made from rice, sweet potato, or barley, as is the case in this umeshu. This spirit reflects the craftsmanship of a master brewer from the Noto Peninsula, coupled with the gold leaf work, a true tradition of the region. Alcohol content: 14°

A fruity and sweet flavor, enhanced by the smoothness of shochu.

Usage Pairing : Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs very well with acidity, bitterness, spices, egg, umami and dried/smoked ingredients. Enjoy it in a cocktail, with a cheese and dried fruit platter (almond, dried apricot, hazelnut, walnut, pine nut, etc.), with a cherry tart, peach melba, cheesecake or chocolate fudge cake. Serving temperature: This umeshu can be enjoyed chilled (10-12°) but also at room temperature (17-20°) or even a little warm (47-50°).
