Description
This artisanal gin was created by a sake brewer located in Dogo, Ehime Prefecture, whose brewery has been in operation for over 120 years. The gin is distilled from sake lees and macerated with juniper, cardamom, cinnamon, kiwi, lemon, and ingredients characteristic of Japan: setoka and beni madonna citrus fruits, ume plum, yuzu, Japanese Hinoki cypress, green tea, and sansho pepper. All of these ingredients were carefully selected from local producers. The gin is vacuum distilled to bring out the best flavors of the ingredients. The result is a gin with a beautiful shochu flavor combined with the fresh aroma of citrus and spices. Alcohol content: 40°
Flavor

Appearance : This gin is colorless, perfectly translucent, shiny.

Nose : The first nose is powerful, aromatic, and seductive. We find citrus fruits like orange zest and juice. It's juicy and sweet. We also smell spicy notes like licorice and pepper. Little by little, with aeration, we get touches of fennel seeds and pine. It's complex.

Palate : The attack is frank, sweet with spices like pepper and licorice but also citrus. There is a nice roundness that persists in the mouth.

Finish : The finish is on green citrus fruits, pineapple, mint, anise, mandarin leaf... A beautiful complexity with a length that becomes delicate but remains persistent.

Minakuchi Shuzo

Minakuchi Shuzo Brewery was founded in 1895 in Matsuyama, in Ehime Prefecture and remains the only brewery in Matsuyama. For over a century, it has maintained close ties with the Dogo hot springs, and has always favored the use of ingredients from local agriculture for brewing its sakes, beers and other alcoholic beverages. Indeed, the Minakuchi Shuzo brewery is surrounded by a rich environment, where "Matsuyama Mii" and "Shizuku Hime" rice, perfect for brewing sake, grow in abundance and where the water is pure. Minakuchi Shuzo also contributes to the tourism development of the region not only thanks to its drinks, which are very popular after the hot springs or as souvenirs, but also thanks to its typical wooden building from the Taisho era and listed as a national heritage site. Awarded numerous times for its sakes, the Minakuchi Shuzo brewery is a real treasure both for the taste buds and for its historical heritage!
