WADAKYU

Wadakyu is a Japanese company founded in 1923 in the town of Makurazaki, in Kagoshima prefecture. It specializes in Katsuobushi, a condiment made from fermented, smoked and dried bonito, then grated into pinkish shavings. This condiment is highly prized in Japan for its rich, delicate and deep flavor, and is used as the main ingredient in the essential dashi broth. Due to European regulations prohibiting the import of products that have undergone particular smoking processes, our producer Wadakyu has decided to set up a production plant on European soil. Highly committed to supplying high quality products, it reproduces as faithfully as possible the same manufacturing process as in Japan, in compliance with European standards. This is the only product we import not from Japan, but from Spain.
