Mikan, also known as Satsuma mandarin, is a type of sweet mandarin from Japan. Mikan can be found everywhere in the Japanese archipelago but they are mainly cultivated in Wakayama prefecture, at the South of Osaka. Mikan have a really thin peel easy to peel, no seed and they are extremely juicy. Their sweet flavor contrasts with the acidity of other citrus varieties.
