Description : Japanese Mikawa barbecue is made from clay with a potter’s wheel. When the clay has hardened, the duct is dug by hand, then it is dried and baked at 950°C before being varnished. It would be adapted for 2 to 4 persons. You can use it outside, on a terrace or on a table inside, with the proper precautions and aerations. The use of binchotan will limit the smoke.
Use : Remove the shelf, open the ventilation door. Insert two pieces of embers (200g of hot charcoal) directly inside to set up barbecue. If you use binchotan, which can be tricky to start up, you can use our charcoal chimney to get embers easily. You can also ember the charcoal this way : insert two pieces of wood charcoal (200g) without blocking the holes in the bottom of the barbecue. Put one firelighter on the charcoal and set fire. Once it is burning, lift up the charcoals among the flame (be careful to the burner). Ventilate through the ventilation door to speed up combustion. Add more charcoal is you need more heat power. Use the ventilation door to adjust the heat level. More the door is open, the more the heat will increase. Oil the shelf and set it back. When it is hot, you can place the food to be grilled. It is ideal for grilling fresh or marinated meat, fish or vegetables especially cut in smaller bits.
Use in a well-ventilated room. Do not collide with something it can damage the barbecue. Use on the wood board included. When setting fire, be careful to sparks. Do not touch when the barbecue is hot. Do not pour water in the bottom of the barbecue. If the bottom is wet, dry before use.
