Description: Kamaboko, or Japanese surimi, is a paste made of white fish, that reminds of surimi. It is made with white fish filet, sugar, and salt. Very appreciated in Japan, it traditionally has a cylindrical form and is used in many dishes such as nabe, bento or ramen, in which kamaboko has a spiral form called narutomaki. This surimi powder allows you to make your own Japanese surimi, simply by adding water to it. This format facilitates preservation and quantity management. Besides, you can control cooking and obtain the texture you prefer. This surimi powder is preservative and additive free.

Flavor: Kamaboko has a delicate fish flavor and a smooth and chewy texture. 

Use: In a bowl, pour 3 to 5 parts of water (below 20°C) then add 1 part of surimi powder. Mix well for 1-2 minutes with a spatula. Shape the surimi paste according to your preference and cook until the centre is heated to 75°C for at least 1 minute. Japanese surimi can be steamed, stir-fried, poached or fried. It will garnish deliciously your ramen and broths. You can use it to stuff shumai dumplings, to make patties for sea burger, korokke croquettes, mousses, and terrines.

Preservation: Keep in a cool place (ideally in the refrigerator). After opening, use immediately.
