Description : Yuzu is a yellow Japanese citrus with a thick peel, very popular in Japan. Yuzu fruit produces very little juice and is much appreciated for its flavourful peel. It has a flavour in between tangerine and citron ! Our yuzu fruits are cultivated in Kito, a small town in the prefecture of Tokushima, Japan. Kito is famous for its amazingly flavourful citrus fruits. They grow on ungrafted trees located up to 300m of altitude. Yuzu are harvested by hand ! Ripe yuzu harvest starts at the end of October, when they have a beautiful yellow color. 

The box is around 1 kg and contains 12 yuzu, between 80 and 100g.

Flavor : Yuzu has a subtle and complex avor something between tangerine and citron.

Use : The yuzu juice can be used instead of lemon in both savory and sweet preparations: sorbet, fruit salads, and cocktails. It can also be used in your sauces for sh and seafood.

The Ogon no Mura company, located in the Tokushima department, produces and distributes citrus juices (yuzu, sudachi) and a wide variety of citrus sauces (ponzu), marmalades, yuzu drinks and syrups. Ogon no Mura mainly uses yuzus grown in the village of Kito, famous for its fruits of an exceptional quality. One of Ogon no Mura's flagship products distributed by Umami in France is the yuzu juice: in order to produce a high-quality product, yuzus are hand-pressed within 24 hours after harvesting, the extracted juice is then kept cool.
